Formal gatherings of the members of the SSR-RC include a fall and a spring meeting. The fall meeting is the primary business meeting during which the coming year's research agenda is formally adopted. Project proposals are presented to the Industrial Advisory Board and funding allocations are determined. The spring meeting is an opportunity to showcase the results of the collaborative SSR-RC research and the individual capabilities of member organizations, both commercial and academic. This meeting includes demos and a trade fair as well as a tutorial on matters of relevance to safety, security and rescue research and applications.
